Our 2022 Audeant Pinot Noir perfectly captures the broad spectrum of experience the vintage has to offer. It is bell rung clear red fruited energy, juxtaposed against a sappy richness and fine persistent structure. We continue to be blessed by winegrowers who care as much as we do about the wines being put to bottle, and are happy to collaborate, push boundaries and oblige our rigorous demands.

Our 2018 Audeant Pinot Noir is comprised of fruit from small lots, meticulously tended to by hand at Luminous Hills, Carlisle’s Crest, Nysa and Cherry Grove vineyards. Aromas unwind from the glass radiating with dark red fruit, cassis, black tea and herbs. In kind, the palate reverberates, extending out in all directions framed by the kind of structure that will carry this wine beautifully over its long potential ageing.

Stardance Vineyard Pinot Noir
Own rooted Pommard clone, planted in 2003 on rocky pleats of decomposed volcanic material, surrounded by forest in the foothills of Oregon’s Coast range. We chose this block based on its steep easterly aspect, and the rocky nature of its clay-sandstone-basaltic soil.

Foothills Pinot noir
This bottling represents an ongoing experiment in precision and place. Across the three vintages crafted to date, two barrels shone brightest through élevage—each revealing an unmistakable inner vitality—were brought together to create this expression. Sourced from distinct vineyard sites nestled in the foothills of Oregon’s Coast Range, these wines reflect the nuances of their terroirs and the purity of minimally handled cuvées.

This bottling is the third in a series of yearly explorations. Representative of how finely we’ve chosen to delineate the boundaries of our physical terroirs. Here two barrels shone throughout their elevage with an interior light impossible to ignore. One from Luminous Hills vineyard and one from Stardance vineyard, each perched facing due East in the foothills of Oregon’s Coast Range, and the result of minimally extracted cuvasions.

Luminous HIlls Vineyard Pinot noir
Only a few barrels are selected each year to represent one of the most dramatic and single vineyards on Oregon. Luminous Hills is a tiny site perched at high elevation in Oregon’s coast range, surrounded by forest it ripens less with heat than the light it is so steeply pitched toward.

The 2022 Luminous Hills is no less stunning than its 2021 counterpart and a true testament to the terroir of this remarkable place. This was the last pick, well into October, of a late ripening vintage. That time on the vine built layers of nuance, depth and intensity of aroma. Fermented with seventy percent whole clusters, it is a lifted exotic wine on a lithe frame of fine tannin, poised for a multi decade unfurling.

Nysa Vineyard Pinot noir
At thirty years old, Nysa is among the older vineyards in the Dundee Hills. The vines here are own-rooted, slowly succumbing to phylloxera. While they cling to life, the minuscule quantity of fruit they produce is profound and totally distinct.

The 2022 Nysa bottling feels like a jewel mined directly from the core of the Dundee Hills themselves. We continue to hone our understanding of these old vines, a place that radiates through vintage, consistently speaking its truth. In a vintage that could become easily over extracted, seventy-five percent of the whole clusters were included, bringing light to the wine, lifting its aromatic purity and providing a sturdy backbone for aging. This is perhaps our most immediately charming Nysa bottling to date.

Rosé of Pinot noir
Crafted with intent unlike the vast majority of rosé, the juice rested on the skins for 5-8 days before being ushered to barrel by gravity to ferment and age on the lees. Inspired by the great rosés of the world. It will continue to develop beautifully in bottle for 10 or more years.

Seven springs chardonnay
Seven Springs was originally planted in 1983 on an east facing slope in the Eola-Amity Hills. Over the years it has produced some of Oregon’s most iconic wines in the deft hands of a great lineage of stewards. It is farmed biodynamically without irrigation. We are grateful to work with one half acre of Chardonnay on the south ridge. Three barrels in total produced each year from seven rows at the most hallowed chardonnay vineyard in Oregon.
